Course Details
This class is based on the reality of life, not the traditions found in a martial arts dojo. This is an active, hands-on class.
You’ll be wearing everyday clothes and using commonly carried folding pocket knives.
The class will include drawing and presentation of a pocket knife. Cutting and movement drills as well as proper maintenance and sharpening of your knife included.
You will learn why you should carry a knife daily and how to use it for whatever situation arises. You will also receive training on how to respond if someone tries to use an edged weapon against you. One seminar is not sufficient to develop fighting reflexes but you can learn usable skills in one class. Professional athleticism is not a prerequisite for success in a fight. A survival/win attitude is.
No extra charge if you have fun while you learn.
As of 2021, it is no longer illegal in Ohio to carry automatic knives and blade-length prosecution is no longer valid. I am not a lawyer but I have an excellent legal handout for students.
The seminar cost is $170 if paid in cash or check. The location has an additional add-on fee of $20 cash due the morning of the class. If you pay online via credit card, the cost of the class is $200 which includes the fee to Darke County Fish and Game.
You will need a sharp CARRY knife of your choosing. We encourage but do not require clip folding knives with 3 – 5 inch blades as the best choice.
As the pictures show, there will be safe knife practice drills as well as live cutting exercises.
