"Fast is fine, but accuracy is final."
-Wyatt Earp
Being able to get accurate hits at any practical distance can mean the difference between prevailing in your gunfight or dealing with the tragedy of hitting an unintended non-threat. Doing this within an appropriate time frame is also critical, but where so many classes focus on speed, accuracy is what wins gunfights. This one-day course focuses on building your accuracy whether close up or at or outside of "typical" gunfight distances with semi-automatic rifles chambered in .223/5.56x45 and above.
If you insist on bringing a bolt action, you best know how to run the bolt efficiently. As the class is not a benchrest position class, heavy guns that are difficult to shoot in the standing position, are NOT recommended.
Topics discussed:
-Precision shooting
-Dot Shooting
-B8 Drills
-Accuracy at distance
-Accuracy at different shooting positions
Must have taken Defensive Rifle or equivalent first.
Required Gear:
-Open mind
- ZEROED Rifle with low power variable optic preferred, irons and red dots are allowed as well. Whichever you pick, please ensure all optics, mounts and rings are mounted properly to the proper torque as stated in the owner's manual. Blue loctite is your friend during this process. There will not be class time to properly mount an optic or zero it. It MUST be hitting a standard sheet of copy paper (8-1/2x11) at 50 yards before class even starts. Students who do not follow this policy will be asked to leave. If you do not know how to do any of the above mentioned activities, pay for private training with us prior to your class date and we will make sure you are at this standard prior to the start of class. Don't be THAT guy/gal that slows down the course!
- Three 30-round magazines or five 20-round magazines. If your rifle holds less than 20 rounds in a magazine, have enough magazines to have at least 80 cartridges in loaded magazines at one time. - Quality Sling properly attached to the rifle.
- 300 rounds of the same ammunition. Different ammo will group differently and cause unnecessary inconsistencies in your shooting.
- Eye and ear protection
- Knee and elbow pads
DOWNLOAD/PRINT FORM and please for our convience and yours fill out the form with a black ink pen and bring it to class with you. This will help us speed up the class time, so we can spend more time training, and improving your skills. Thank You!
